Using TechGrid, TechTex and TechTex G in railway construction

Geomas products Geogrids and geotextiles have two main applications on the railway line.

а. When building railways on soft soils with a low bearing capacity, the base must be strengthened in order for the ballast layer to work effectively. TechGrid and TechTex products are used in soft subfloor areas to increase the load-bearing capacity of the sub-floor and stabilize the sub-ballast.

б. Mechanical stabilization of the top layer of the ballast layer on railroad tracks with a hard bottom surface allows for more passes for the same layer, while simultaneously reducing ballast maintenance periods, which leads to lower operating costs. Line stabilization is reduced by mechanical stabilization using TechGrid geogrids.
